This is such a special post for me. This is our daughter Lauren, our first child and a lovely one she is.

Please pray for our new family. Lauren was moved from Aiken Regional Medical Center where we had her to the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta this afternoon to their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She has had some complications breathing so upon close examination our doctor asked us to have her taken there. It seems Lauren has a clef pallet and some other things going on in her mouth area that need to be addressed (more details to follow). I went and visited her late this afternoon and the nurse told me that she also has a “mass” pressing down on the soft pallet which is causing problems with her breathing etc… The team of doctors including many specialists at MCG are going to start running test in the morning to determine what this “mass” is and to see what they can do about the pallet and the other things going on in the area. They currently have her on a respirator with tubes down her throat to help her breath better and this has made a huge difference. They are also feeding her via an IV which is much better then giving her formula which could get into her lungs etc… and cause some major problems. (This is the simplified version).

My wife is doing well, she will be discharged from the hospital here in Aiken by tomorrow afternoon and then we will be heading to MCG in Augusta to be with Lauren. They don’t have a place we can stay so we will be commuting (about a 1 hour drive) to be with her each day until she can come home. The birth went well with only a few minor hiccups.

I seem to be coming down with a cold or possibly the flu so pray for me as well. It’s making things rather difficult especially since Lauren is in the NICU at MCG.

  3. My prayers weren’t answered…she looks like you!

  4. Wow, Dan, what a pretty baby!! Way to go, Buddy!! Rest assured that my thoughts and prayers are with you, your sweet wife, and your beautiful baby.

  5. What a great picture! You guys are a beautiful family! I have my most powerful prayer warriors all over this Dan. Keep us posted! Love in Christ, Karen & Jim

  6. i would give anything for her to be healed and perfect right now.

  7. Our family, from 8 to 65, are asking for healing from our Father, for little Lauren. She is beautiful. Hold fast to that hope that only He can give. We had a miracle at MCG and pray you will too. You and your family are in our thoughts with prayers so much of the day. Love from all of us in His name, Jean and Phil

  8. Thank you all for your prayers. I should be posting some new info soon, we are asking all who are willing to lift Lauren up to God.

  9. This mountain in front of you is the enemy roaring, trying to frighten you. He wants you to believe that this is too big for our God. The devil is a liar! Healing Lauren is so easy for God. He can do it with His hands tied behind His back. You’ve been sucker punched and had all the breath knocked out of you. Get mad as heck and look at the mountain straight away and tell it to “MOVE”! IN JESUS NAME. Satan will flee. That’s a promise.

  10. I absolutely love this photo! That is begging to be enlarged to 8×10!

  11. Hi Dan,
I know it has been a while. We located you through a Google searce of your pastor & church. Kim has given us little bits of information concerning Lauren. Lauren will be in our prayers & we will be sharing this as a prayer request to our church (Emmanuel Baptist Chruch, Marengo IL).
I understand surgery is planned for May 15th or 16th. If you can, keep us posted on what is happening.
    With all our love,
    Uncle Steve & Aunt Joanne
